The iTunnes international consortium continues to strengthen collaboration for sustainable management of tropical tuna fisheries.
Key upcoming initiatives include:
- Atlantic-wide coordination of biological sampling for tropical tunas.
- Collection of improved key biological data on growth, age, reproduction, trophic ecology, and population structure.
- Enhanced scientific advice to reduce uncertainties in stock assessments and ecosystem models.
- Development of better products and datasets for end-users.
These efforts will support harmonized data collection, improved scientific outputs, and more effective fisheries management across the region.
