iTunnes Consortium Advances Tropical Tuna Research Across the Atlantic

The iTunnes international consortium continues to strengthen collaboration for sustainable management of tropical tuna fisheries.

Key upcoming initiatives include:

  • Atlantic-wide coordination of biological sampling for tropical tunas.
  • Collection of improved key biological data on growth, age, reproduction, trophic ecology, and population structure.
  • Enhanced scientific advice to reduce uncertainties in stock assessments and ecosystem models.
  • Development of better products and datasets for end-users.

These efforts will support harmonized data collection, improved scientific outputs, and more effective fisheries management across the region.
